Smart Grid Integration Modeling and Control of a Grid-connected PV System

A grid-connected photovoltaic (PV) system is modeled and managed in LabVIEW for this study. Because the proposed Control System can communicate with the grid operator, it can be used in either maximum power point tracking (MPPT) or restricted power point tracking (LPPT) (LPPT). If there is a significant excess of renewable energy generation and low consumption, there are a number of situations where the grid operator can restrict some PV or wind generators in order to maintain system stability. The distribution system operator can direct PV generators with the LPPT feature to maintain a limited power output, allowing communication with the network.
