How to Become an Engineer

In India, pursuing Engineering is not that difficult, but there are some procedures that must be followed in order to become an Engineer.

There are two methods to begin your Engineering career in India-

1. After completing your tenth grade:

  • You can begin your career by studying for a three-year Diploma in Engineering.
  • Later, if you want to pursue graduation or Btech in it, you can apply online through the government, where colleges are assigned based on your preferences and percentage in your last year of diploma.
  • It is a 4-year program for pursuing BTech, although you may direct admission in the second year of BTech. This benefit is only available to students who have completed a Diploma in Engineering.

2. After completing 12th grade:

  • It would be best if you took the Science stream in junior college.
  • After finishing the 12th grade, you must sit for an entrance exam known as MHCET (Maharashtra Common Admission Test).
  • After the results of your entrance exam, you may register for college allocation through the government website. You can enroll yourself in many Engineering coaching institutes which help students to score better in the Entrance Examinations
  • Later colleges will be assigned to you based on your MHCET percentile from your selected list of colleges.
  • Next, You will be admitted to the first year of the BTech program.
