Abstract

This project proposes the development of a Solar Tracking Control System using MATLAB and Simulink. The system will optimize the positioning of solar panels by tracking the sun’s path, thereby maximizing energy capture throughout the day.

Key Components

  • Simulation-Based Control: Use Simscape™ Multibody™ and Simulink® to design and simulate the control system.
  • Motor Integration: Develop a PID control system to manage the solar panel’s movement based on location-specific solar paths.
  • Prototype Development: Deploy the control system on low-cost hardware, such as Arduino, to create a working prototype.

Expected Outcome

The project will enhance solar energy efficiency, contributing to the broader adoption of renewable energy and supporting sustainability goals.
