Design and Implementation of a Smart Agriculture Monitoring System using ESP8266

In an environment of population growth and limited resources, the sustainability and efficacy of agricultural production became especially significant. The integration of smart agricultural technology and Internet of Things (IoT) technology has provided farmers with advanced management tools to enhance both crop yield and quality. This study aims to build a novel control system to regulate a smart greenhouse by means of the Internet of Things (IoT) as a primary component and connecting sensor, actuator, as well as cloud platform technologies. Environmental settings including humidity, light, and temperature are obtained using sensors. Furthermore, it is transferred to the cloud platform for the purpose of storing and analyzing it. Simultaneously, our system automatically regulates light, ventilation, water, and fertilizer within the greenhouse to optimize crop growth conditions. The system design incorporates a modular design concept. We individually execute the operations of the sensor, actuator, and cloud platform. The transmission of data occurs through wireless communication and is subsequently integrated. The empirical findings demonstrate that the cloud control system of the intelligent agricultural greenhouse can efficiently oversee the greenhouse environment, enhance the efficacy of energy and resource utilization, and facilitate convenient and prompt greenhouse management for farmers.
