The pharmaceutical industry is majorly shifting with the help of the Industry4. 0 technologies. This notion of adoption tools and technologies is called Pharma 4. 0. It is directed towards the radicals in the development of medicines, the manufacturing of drugs and the distribution. They are done by use of sensors, data analytic landscape, Robotics, Blockchain, among other Ind 4. 0 technologies. This adoption gives a lot of advantages such as cutting on expenditure, enhancement of quality of the produced medicines, massive research on the new chemical compound and generation of a flexible supply chain that can meet the market demands as they emerge. But this adoption also provides impediments like the costs of investments at first, security of digital records, the lack of skilled employees and the organizational and management changes in relation to regulations. Thus, the pharmaceutical industry environment is replete with many challenges that must be overcome since the classical approaches are not sufficient for real-time monitoring of the processes and suffered from supply chain problems.
