A wing is the most vital component or organ as far as the operation of any flying machine is concerned. It creates a lift due to momentum and another reason is that air bubbles are pushed down by the aerofoil shape. As a result, air molecules exert some force; the force has two directions that can be broken down into two forces; drag and lifted. Wing can be subdivided into three main categories they include skin, spars, and Ribs. For the wing structure I take 15 ribs and two spar. Front spars are of I section which are placed in front while the rear portion is of a C section looking longitudinally along the wings. This study targets at Composite wing skin e.g epoxy-carbon woven, epoxy-carbon UD, epoxy E-glass, and from among these the FEA analysis will determine the material to be used for the wing skin application. The first wing has been drawn with Catia by copying coordinates of NACA 4412 from the NASA site, and to obtain deformation and stresses at various speeds structural analysis has been made. Structural analysis of a broad range of wing skin materials has been made and Epoxy – Carbon UD best suit as a wing skin material for an aircraft.
