Design and Implementation of an Automated Irrigation System using Arduino

Using Arduino-based design and implementation, the study has developed an automated irrigation system. The agricultural field is much influenced by the present global technology. Automation is the application of technology to complete an operation or process free from human interference. The primary goal of this study is to ascertain the process by which an individual can efficiently utilize an automated irrigation system for their own moderately priced facilities. This can be achieved within a few hours by connecting various electronic components and materials. A sensor-based automatic irrigation system has been developed and deployed as one of the most popular and beneficial automated systems. This will assist individuals in their day-to-day tasks, thereby conserving their time and effort. This system employs sensor technology in conjunction with a microcontroller, relay, DC motor, and battery. Act as a sophisticated switching system that detects the moisture level in the soil and waters the plant if needed. The motor’s activation will be determined automatically by the soil’s level of dryness. Sensor data is transmitted to a computer in order to generate graphs for the purpose of analysis. This irrigation system can be easily regulated and managed through computer control. Typically, this system is automatically applicable to both small and large gardens, nurseries, greenhouses, and green roofs. Additionally, this will result in time and energy conservation, while also reducing water wastage. Additionally, it will enable the farmer to reap the advantages of the plantation without having to address any issues related to irrigation planning.
