Affordable, Sustainable, and User-Friendly Solutions for Semen Dose Storage and Distribution

Category: Hardware
Organization: Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying

Abstract

This project aims to design a Portable and Sustainable Semen Storage Device using Arduino. The device will focus on maintaining the integrity of semen doses without the need for liquid nitrogen, using alternative cooling technologies such as thermoelectric coolers (Peltier modules).

Features

  • Temperature Control: Arduino-controlled thermoelectric coolers will maintain the required temperature for semen storage.
  • Compact Design: The device will be lightweight and easy to transport, making it ideal for use in remote areas.
  • Energy Efficiency: The device will use solar panels or other renewable energy sources to power the cooling system.

Expected Outcome: This solution will reduce the dependency on liquid nitrogen, lowering costs and making artificial insemination more accessible to farmers, especially in remote areas.
